The MHRRC aims to promote a sustainable human rights culture in Malawi and the SADC region by working with Civil Society Organizations and other institutions through capacity building, resource provision, networking and research.
This project will empower women, girls and the marginalized communities with information, knowledge and skills to demand comprehensive SRHR, including safe abortion. It is envisaged that the bottom up advocacy by those directly affected by the current restrictive abortion laws will help to change the resistance by the faith community and at the same time influence policy makers such as Members of Parliament to support adoption of a liberalized law on Abortion.
