GRIT’s (formerly Kwanele) innovative app gives women and children an easy-to-use tool to report and successfully prosecute crimes involving Gender Based Violence (GBV).
In emergency situations, the GRIT app provides victims with fast access to help, and to a community to stand with them. The app also provides a tool box of resources for use in court cases to help ensure successful conviction rates against perpetrators.
The main aims of the project are to assess and explore the effectiveness of the GRIT Mobile App in supporting womxn to record their experiences related to GBV; increase womxns’ confidence in reporting, and; increase reporting of violence against womxn.
